Demorest

Nestled in the foothills of the incredible Appalachian Mountains, Demorest is the proud home of Georgia’s longest-running Fourth of July festival and parade. It is also the home of the Johnny Mize Athletic Center and Museum, honoring the Baseball Hall of Famer, who was born in Demorest and played baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Giants and the New York Yankees during his illustrious career. It is also home to the Mason-Scharfenstein Museum of Art, and the Yonah Mountain Vineyards. It is also close to the Chattahoochee National Forest, a phenomenal park with petroglyphs, historic sites and numerous trails, including a section of the famous Appalachian Trail.
