Built in 2009, this beautiful tree house-style cabin rental in Alpine Helen, Georgia, is a warm, spacious two-bedroom accommodation with a full bathroom and a jetted bathtub on each floor. The queen-size beds and the sleeper sofa in the living room accommodate up to six guests altogether, and while the smooth wood furniture and walls are rustic, the kitchen appliances are brand new. The kitchen, with its marble counters, center island, and ceramic tile flooring, opens into the comfortable living room, which has two large couches, a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and satellite television access. The large bay and recessed ceiling windows flood the room with light, with strong pull-down shades for guests hoping to sleep late in the morning. The standing log fireplace will warm the room in winter while making visitors feel right at home in the mountains. Other handy amenities include air conditioning, heating, a washer and dryer, and Wi-Fi.
On the wooden covered deck, guests can enjoy a sunrise or sunset while relaxing on the rocking chairs that look out over the Chattahoochee River. The fire pit and picnic table both provide space for guests to spend time with friends or family outside in nature but away from the bustle of people in town. Read More

Location + Surroundings
Alpine Helen is stunning, with its steep red-roofed houses that look more like they belong to a Swiss village full of ski chalets than a town just south of the North Carolina-Georgia border. The colorful buildings pop against the lush green of the trees, with pleasant inns, taverns, and an Oktoberfest 'Festhall' just off the main square. Visitors and employees of Alpine Helen can even be found in lederhosen, the once popular central European folk-wear.
With the Chattahoochee River meandering through the woods nearby, Unicoi State Park just eight miles to the north, and the Chattahoochee National Forest an hour northwest, guests will have no shortage of beautiful views or activities to do by day or by night. What's more, both Athens and Atlanta are only short distances away, so guests who are eager to get into the city for the day can hop in the car and be there by lunch. Athens is an hour and 20 minutes drive from Alpine Helen, while Atlanta is just under two hours away. Read More

Though the cabin itself comes with a riverside deck, lounge chairs, and a fire pit, glampers will also have all of Alpine Helen at their fingertips as the center of the town is a short walk from the cabin driveway. Though the kitchen is fully stocked for cooking big meals at home, guests can also dine in any of the town's atmospheric German fest haus-style taverns, pizzerias, or steakhouses. The town is small but energetic, with ice cream shops, putt-putt courses, restaurants, and bars lining its streets.
With the Helen Tubing & Helen Water Park centers just up the road, guests can either play on the river or get away from the noise by relaxing on the porch in the peaceful woods. Other sites worth visiting in town include the Nacoochee Village Antique Mall and the Habersham Vineyards & Winery, both less than two miles from the cabin. Across the street, visitors can also ride horses in the pastures beyond the roadside.
Outside of Alpine Helen, breathtaking Georgian mountains surround the area on all sides. For a small admittance fee, glampers can visit the celebrated Anna Ruby Falls, as well as the Amicalola Falls, or any of the nearby lakes like Lake Burton or Lake Chatuge. Guests can hike on Brasstown Bald Mountain or head over to the Appalachian Trail for longer paths and hikes with more challenging elevations. As the Chattahoochee National Forest is also only an hour away, the opportunities to spend the day entirely surrounded by nature are endless.
