Newnan

Newnan is a fascinating city in Coweta County, Georgia, with a long and complex history. Due to its status as a hospital city, the city of Newnan was relatively untouched during the Civil War, and so maintains much of its original antebellum architecture even today. It was also the site of the trial against John Wallace in 1948, which was portrayed in the novel "Murder in Coweta County" (with a film that starred Johnny Cash, Andy Griffith, and June Carter). It is also home to the incredible Coweta County African American Heritage Museum and Research Center, or Caswell House. Outside of town, glampers can go hiking, biking, and much more in Chattahoochee Bend State Park, or explore the lovely Dunaway Gardens.
