The Outer Banks is both a paradise and a playground for many visitors who keep coming back year after year. There are no shortages when it comes to activities whether be it on land, on the water, or even up in the air. Jockey's Ridge, about 45 minutes from the cottage, has the East Coast's highest sand dunes and guests can try their hand at kite flying, hang gliding, or just hike the trails. On Roanoke Island, guests can experience life on the seas for the Englishmen who set sail for the New World aboard the Elizabeth II, a replica of one of the original merchant ships that came along for the Roanoke Voyage in 1585.
