Perfect for a getaway in nature with a loved one, this rustic treehouse getaway near West Jefferson, North Carolina, is built around a live tree, which grows through the center of this hexagon-shaped cabin. This wonderful space is tucked up high on the hillside with a flight of stairs to access the treetop cabin.
This is a primitive camping cabin. It does not have electricity or an en suite bathroom. It does have A/C via an external power source, and it has propane heat for the colder months. It is furnished with a memory foam double platform bed. The hosts provide sheets, pillows, blankets, and bath towels for this cabin. Guests have access to a "bathhouse" nearby with a flush toilet, a hot water shower, and a sink.
Dogs are allowed if prearranged for an additional fee.
Most weekends require a 2-night minimum stay. Inquire with the host if you want to stay just 1 night on a weekend. Major holidays have a 3-night minimum stay.

The cabins are located in Ashe County, at the historic Healing Spring with easy access to all that this region has to offer, such as West Jefferson’s thriving art culture, coffee shops, boutiques, and emporiums. A visit to Ashe County’s Farmer’s Market is highly recommended, where visitors can sample homemade cheese. The Church of Fresco has fabulous works by artist such as Benjamin Long.
There is also a local movie theater and charming nearby towns like West Jefferson, Lansing and Sparta are definitely worth a visit. Guests can also embark on fabulous hikes at Grayson Highlands State Park, where there are herds of wild ponies, and see stunning views from the top of Mount Jefferson.
