In this region of North Carolina, the number of things to do can be staggering. Naturally, there is an overabundance of hiking and biking trails to explore in the surrounding area, including several scenic paths inside the protected areas of the Blue Ridge Mountains (especially Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, Julian Price Memorial Park, and of course Grandfather Mountain State Park). Horseback riding is another popular pastime, with tours departing from Blowing Rock, and there are petting zoos, train rides, and theme park attractions for the young ones (or those young at heart!) at nearby Tweetsie Railroad. Avid skiers and snowboarders will be satisfied with the winter sports on offer at Appalachian Ski Mountain, while budding historians and knick-knack aficionados will be delighted by the curiosities on display at Mystery Hill. And, of course, there are still a multitude of things to do and events to attend back at the complex, where the top priority is making sure guests make the most of their trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains.
