Description of Glamping Units
This beachfront cottage is located near the Green Swamp Preserve, North Carolina, and can accommodate 12 guests for a getaway that combines an escape to the beach with a retreat to nature. It has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Each of the first and second bedrooms is furnished with a queen-size bed, while each of the third and fourth bedrooms contains one full-size bed and two twin trundle beds. In each of the bathrooms, guests will find a toilet, a sink, and a combination bathtub/shower. Linens and towels are provided.
In the living area, guests will find two sofas and a pair of armchairs arranged around a large flat-screen television. One of these sofas can be converted into a queen-size bed. Linens are not provided for the later but can be ordered with advance request. The dining area seats six. Both areas are backdropped by a wall full of windows, providing plenty of natural light and stunning views of the ocean. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with an oven, a stove, a microwave, a dishwasher, a refrigerator, and a coffeemaker, along with a breakfast bar that seats three.

Location + Surroundings
This cottage is located right on the beach of Oak Island, North Carolina, with nothing but a small strip of beachgrass and a short private walkway separating it from the sand and the surf. Less than half a mile to the west, guests will find the Blue Water Point Marina, providing convenient access to fishing charters, watercraft rentals, and the Intracoastal Waterway. The cottage is about 13 minutes from the Oak Island Nature Center, which features a butterfly garden, live animal exhibits, a picnic and fishing area on the Intracoastal Waterway, and paths that wind through a variety of trees, including dogwoods, southern magnolias, and black gums.
About 27 minutes to the north, guests will find the Green Swamp Preserve, which encompasses 15,907 acres of evergreen shrub bog and longleaf pine savannas. These environments provide habitats to 14 species of insectivorous plants, including large populations of Venus flytraps, and a variety of wildlife, such as American alligators, fox squirrels, Henslow's sparrow, Bachman's sparrow, the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker, and Hessel's hairstreak butterfly.

With the beach of Oak Island practically right out the back door of the cottage and with Blue Water Point Marina less than half a mile away, guests will be well-positioned to enjoy swimming, fishing, boating, and water sports in the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Fishing charters are available from Angry Pelican Charters. Fishing boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, and stand-up paddleboards can be rented from Carolina Watersports. Both of these service providers are located at Blue Water Point Marina.
For hiking, birdwatching, wildlife viewing, guests can visit the Green Swamp Preserve, where they can see a variety of birds, mammals, alligators, and insects, including American alligators, fox squirrels, Henslow's sparrow, Bachman's sparrow, the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker, and Hessel's hairstreak butterfly. The preserve also offers an opportunity to see a variety of flora, including orchids and 14 species of insectivorous plants, such as the Venus flytrap. To see wildlife up-close in a more controlled setting, guests can visit the Oak Island Nature Center.
