Old Fort

The quaint village of Old Fort is located in McDowell County and has a population of less than a thousand although, it attracts many visitors making it a great glamping site. Old Fort is famous for its weekly, admission free Mountain Music concerts and has plenty of other attractions. There are trails in the park and waterfalls to visit as well as museums and monuments. Mount Mitchell is close by as is Lake James State Park, where water sports are available. This is a popular glamping destination due to the stunning scenery and the vast amount of activities the area has to off, suitable for everyone.
