Scenic views
This accommodation is located at a bed and breakfast in the countryside of Pinnacle, North Carolina, where guests will enjoy views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Pilot Mountain, and a farm run by the hosts. Adhering to sustainable, environmentally conscientious agricultural practices, the farm is home to pasture-raised, heritage-breed chickens, turkeys, cows, and pigs, who guests can see milling about the fields during the day.

About 10 minutes to the southeast, guests will find Pilot Mountain State Park, which surrounds the 2,241-foot-tall peak of the Monadnock for which the park is named ("monadnock" being a term of Native American-origin for an isolated hill or mountain). The top of the Monadnock is crowned with Catawba rhododendrons that erupt with pink blossoms in the spring, while the woodlands below are populated with mountain laurel, wild blueberry, huckleberry, chestnut oak, hickory, table mountain pine, and pitch pine trees, shrubs, and plants.

An extensive network of hiking and horseback trails wind through these woodlands, which are inhabited by white-tailed deer, raccoons, woodchucks, ravens, eastern bluebirds, Carolina wrens, and American toads. Extending from this network, a seven-mile trail corridor connects the northern section of the park with its southern section, which is intersected by the Yadkin River. The latter is home to sunfish, crappie, and catfish, and it also hosts the 165-mile Yadkin River Canoe Trail.

For even more natural splendor and outdoor recreational facilities, guests can head to Hanging Rock State Park, which is about 35 minutes to the east. This park boasts 18 miles of hiking trails, eight miles of mountain biking trails, a river on which guests can go kayaking, and a lake on which guests can go row boating, canoeing, and fishing.

About five minutes to the northeast, guests will find the small town of Pilot Mountain, which boasts a number of restaurants and boutiques. Other attractions in the surrounding area include Horne Creek Living Historical Farm, Pilot Knob Park Country Club, Bregman's Trail Riding, Jessup Mill, and Carolina Ziplines Canopy Tours. The bed and breakfast is about one hour and 40 minutes from Charlotte, where guests will find the nearest international airport.
