Guests will find an array outdoor activities in and around Angel Fire with Colfax County being home to the Angel Fire Ski Area and Mount Verde Lake. The Ski Area attracts thousands every year to its top-class slopes for skiing and snowboarding, however, the tubing, sledding, and snowshoeing facilities are also hugely popular and makes for a fun day out for all the family and for all skill levels. Around Mount Verde Lake is a golden sandy beach where picnicking and sunbathing can be enjoyed before cooling down in the water or taking a kayak or canoe out for a gentle paddle. The surrounding woodland encompasses scenic walking, biking, and horseback riding trails while guests looking for activities with an adrenaline rush should visit the zip line tour and the Angel Fire Bike Park.

Off the beaten path, around five miles north of the Angel Fire center, stands the beautiful Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park where visitors can get an insight into the history of the war at the museum and pay their respects to the fallen.
