In Chimayo itself, glampers can visit the El Santuario de Chimayo, which is an 1816 Catholic church known for its healing soil. The Chimayo Museum is just a three-minute walk from the rental and is a great place to visit to learn about the history of the area and it is also located in the Plaza del Cerro, a well-known and historic neighborhood in New Mexico. There are also a number of small trading shops in the neighborhood including weaving shops and other traditional arts shops.
The rental lies between the Carson National Forest and the Santa Fe National Forest where glampers can take part in plenty of activities including walking, hiking, climbing, fishing, as well as being in awe of the beautiful surroundings and views on offer in the area.
For those who would like to explore the surrounding areas and cities more, Santa Fe is less than a 40-minute drive from the rental. Albuquerque is an hour and a half away and both these cities are thriving with things to do and places to see for an exciting day trip.

Chimayo is a lovely and unique destination that is ideal for exploring New Mexico. It is filled with historical sites and many cultural spots, including the Chimayo Museum, which is just walking distance from the rental. El Santuario de Chimayo is located nearby and is a sacred place for visitors to explore and rejuvenate. For those who want to be outside, they can head to the many parks that surround the property, including Santa Fe National Forest, Bandelier National Monument, Valles Caldera National Preserve, and Carson National Forest. All these forests and reserves offer plenty of activity opportunities with hiking trails for all levels. Bird watching and animal observing are also popular in the area. Santa Cruz Dam is a five-minute drive from the rental and is great for fishing and swimming. More sights to see in the area include Nambe Lake and Falls, Taos Skiing, Taos Pueblo and Tsankawi. Rafting the Rio Grande is also a fun and exhilarating activity to enjoy with loved ones.
Albuquerque is a must-see for those visiting the area as it is filled with a number of sights and attractions including the Petroglyph National Monument which is an archaeological site with prehistoric art. Guests can choose to take an aerial tram ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway that goes above the forest area and woodland. Albuquerque Biological Park is also great for a relaxing riverside outing and is great to bring a picnic along and enjoy the sights of the animals that live there. The ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden is simply stunning and offers one and a half miles of walkable garden paths filled with waterfalls, fountains, and blossomed flowers ideal for an easy afternoon activity.
Santa Fe is New Mexico's capital city and is filled with culture and beauty. Glampers should be sure to visit the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi which is a grand 19th-century church. The Loretto Chapel is another stunning historic site with legendary stairs and views from above, while the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum holds more than 3,000 works of amazing art. -
