Further afield, the Sandia Mountains also offer the perfect backdrop for hiking along trails that will take hikers on a historical adventure.
Glampers may discover ancient ruins or fossils and jaw-dropping views are ensured around every corner. Those preferring to explore on two wheels will also find many breathtaking biking trails and horseback riding can also be found in Cerrillos Hills State Park. The Rio Grande is abundant with wildlife and it is great for canoeing and rafting. While paddling down the river, glampers can spot deer, elks, and even antelope! During the winter, skiing and snowboarding are also popular in the area with Sandia Peak Ski Area and Ski Santa Fe—the country's highest ski area.
