This one-street town is lined with delicious restaurants and cafes, like the iconic Phong Nha Bamboo Cafe, where guests can enjoy fantastic meals throughout the day and also inquire about cooking classes.
The main attraction is the incredible Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park, about 30 minutes away from the property, where guests can embark on a variety of different caving and trekking adventure tours, offered by different tour operators, each having exclusive access to particular areas of the park. This UNESCO World Heritage site is Vietnam’s largest national park and home to over 300 caves, including some of the world’s largest, in addition to fascinating rivers and lush jungles.
Some highlights of the park include Tra Ang River Cave (Cold Cave), Hang Son Doong (Mountain River Cave - the world’s largest cave), Thien Duong Cave (Paradise Cave), and the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre and the Botanic Gardens.
Paradise Cave, arguably the most beautiful, is also one of the most accessible caves inside the national park. Guests can visit without a guide to tour the 1.2 kilometers of scenic boardwalk within the cave’s public area. The cave site can be accessed by tour bus, or guests can rent a motorbike or ride a bicycle to access the site. For those seeking adventure, multiple tour operators offer excursions spanning a full seven-kilometer hike into the cave, going beyond the public boardwalk. The trek involves a day-long journey of swimming and boating through cave sections and an underground lunch.
