Grafton

The small town of Grafton, located in Vermont’s Windham County and considered one of the prettiest in the south of the state, not only exudes rustic New England charm with its restored buildings, artisan cheese makers, and historic taverns and churches, but also makes for an excellent location to explore the dense woods and rugged slopes of the scenic Green Mountains. With the miles of hiking trails in the nearby Green Mountains National Forest, including the Long and Appalachian Trails, co-extensive in Vermont, opportunities to observe varied wildlife and seasonal fall color, and to visit the numerous ski resorts in the local area such as Stratton Mountain, Killington and Okemo, visitors can combine wilderness with small-town charm, to experience authentic New England at its very best.
