This waterfront cottage rental on Vashon Island in Washington State—conveniently near Seattle—is a truly unique solar-powered property elevated above the beach tides on pilings. The cottage is incredibly well-lit with stunning views from the large bay window and starlight over the water, with a garden window to the south. It sleeps two people with one queen-size bed in the first bedroom and a pull-out sofa bed, both of which are fitted with organic mattresses and linens.
The fully-equipped kitchen has everything glampers need to prepare delicious meals. The cottage is installed with high-speed internet and a flat-screen computer with a DVD player for watching movies. Heating is also installed for when the temperature drops.
Outside, guests can enjoy views of the water from the amazing wrap-around deck. Staying over the tides guests can watch the sunrise across the water, explore the private beach, fish, paddle or swim off the deck into Puget Sound, hike off the property into old-growth Burton woods, bike the Burton loop or walk to the watercraft rental.
The cottage has a wonderful wrap-around deck that is the perfect place to enjoy the panoramic views and wildlife, sunrise to sunset, and even fish at high tide! The cottage also has two bikes so that guests can easily get around the island. There is a single entry gravel drive that allows one car to park with more parking space available on the street. This bedroom has an open wall on one side facing in towards the rest of the rental with a curtain that can be drawn.
The hosts provide organic linens but guests should be sure to bring their own toiletries.
Kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards are available to rent less than half a mile away at Jensen Boathouse/Vashon Watersports.

Glampers can wake up to the sun rising over the water, and go for a stroll to Inspiration Point or Ober Park and enjoy a scenic picnic. On the east side of the island, Point Robinson is home to a historic lighthouse, and Dockton Park on Maury Island has a lovely marina and a number of hiking trails. Glampers can also enjoy Vashon Island's vibrant art and food scene with trips to the vineyards, farmers markets, and the historic Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie.
With Seattle just a short ferry ride away, it is the perfect place for a day trip. Guests can visit the cultural Seattle Centre and climb the 605-feet tall space needle for great views of the city. There are also many museums and galleries to visit. Seattle Art Museum showcases a diverse range of art from European paintings to ancient Asian artwork and an outdoor sculpture garden. The harbor-front lined with eateries and shops is also a great place to visit. Children will love the Seattle Aquarium and a ride on the Seattle Great Wheel.
