Set right next to Wellington Park State Reserve, this cottage is located in Fern Tree in the Hobart region of Tasmania, where it is perched on Mount Wellington, 550 meters above sea level, nestled within a gardened woodland setting that is home to Barnevelder chickens. From the windows and decks of the cottage, guests will enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding verdant landscape and possibly catch glimpses of pademelons and a variety of endemic species of birds, including black parrots, green parrots, and wattlebirds. The state reserve lies less than a mile away, where guests will find attractions such as Wellington Falls, Silver Falls, the Springs, and the North West Bay River, which can be accessed via tracks that run right from the property’s doorstep.

Further afield, guests will find Huonville and Franklin, the gateway to the Southern Forests, about half an hour away, while a 45-minute drive will take them to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary where they can see wombats, koalas, and Tasmanian devils.

The capital city of Hobart is just 20 minutes away, where guests will find many attractions such as the Museum of Old and New Art, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, and the Salamanca Market. Here, they will also find the nearest international airport.

While exploring the tracks, guests will also enjoy many opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife viewing, which they'll also find on the property itself, with pademelons and a variety of endemic species of birds to be seen, including black parrots, green parrots, and wattlebirds.
