This unique cottage is located near Gippsland Lakes in Victoria, Australia, and can accommodate four guests. This earth-sheltered cottage is nestled against the terrain to maintain its indoor temperature, making it an environmentally-friendly retreat. This cottage also features eco-friendly furniture made from reclaimed timber and is decorated with calming earth tones. There are two bedrooms and one large bathroom. Both bedrooms have double beds, unique decor on the walls, and large glass windows with views of beautiful Ironbark and Red Box trees. Linens are provided. The spacious bathroom has a large vanity with a wooden countertop, a sink, a shower, a toilet, and plenty of towels.

The living room has a sofa, a flat-screen TV, BluRay, Bluetooth iPhone speakers, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a glass door leading to the patio. Guests can dine in front of the gorgeous views at the dining table next to the living room. The kitchenette comes with tea and coffee making facilities, a sink, microwave, fridge, and local “Arrandene” coffee. A selection of books and magazines is provided, and a porta-cot and a high chair are available upon request.

Outside, there is a private patio surrounded by gardens and trees. A barbecue is provided with a gas hot plate for an outdoor cookout. Guests can enjoy views of Lakes Entrance, the Mitchell River Silt Jetties and Raymond Island from the rooftop garden.

This retreat is an eco-friendly earth-sheltered building, which uses natural terrain against the walls of the house to maintain an ideal indoor temperature. The building cannot be seen from above and the roof is covered in a garden. Amenities in this unique accommodation include a TV, a BluRay player, an iPod speaker, a selection of books and magazines, and a telescope for enjoying the incredible views of the Gippsland Lakes. A barbecue is provided.
