This beautiful glamping site is located right next to the pristine Macal River and centrally located in between the Mountain Pine Ridge area. There are many beautiful things to see here, such as caves, waterfalls, and animals, as well as the town of San Ignacio. The site is in a remote area of Belize, but it is just eight miles outside of the towns of Santa Elena and San Ignacio. What's more? Situated in the fertile Macal River Valley, glampers will be afforded many spectacular views.
This 50-acre nature reserve is teaming with flora and fauna, where guests can enjoy around five miles of well-groomed nature trails and go tubing on the river from the property's sandy riverfront beach. In addition, this property is situated in the heartland of the Maya within close proximity to the Mayan villages of San Antonio and Cristo Rey. In fact, from the property, guests can tour the largest ancient Maya site of Caracol and the phenomenal sacred cave Actun Tunich Muknal (ATM Cave).
An ornithologist's paradise, many rare and colorful bird species can be spotted on a regular basis, and few of these include toucans, flycatchers, warblers, wrens, orioles, hummingbirds, kiskadees, woodcreepers, jays, honey creepers, and many, many more. This site is very close to three major Mayan sites. The first is Caracol—the largest Mayan temple in all of Central America. The second site is Actun Tunichil Muknal, an ancient cave with preserved artifacts. The last site is called Xunantunich, which was a Mayan temple. Apart from these historic sites, have some fun hiking in Tipu or go tubing or canoeing on the Macal River. This property is also in the midst of Mountain Pine Ridge, which is a perfect place to see all of Belize’s unique birds.
