Scenic views
This cabin is located at a glamping site situated inside the boundaries of the South Cardamom Protected Reserve, Cambodia. Nestled between a lushly forested hillside and the broad, deep, and gently flowing waters of Tatai River, the site can be reached by a 10-minute boat trip from the village of Tatai, Cambodia, which is about 19 kilometers (11.8 miles) from the town of Koh Kong. In and around the site, guests will find mangrove trees, coconut palms, bamboo forests, a small stream, large boulders, and a jungle that leads to Tatai Waterfall.
The reserve is part of a contiguous series of protected natural areas that encompass much of western Cambodia. These areas include Peam Krasaop Wildlife Sanctuary, Phnum Samkoh Wildlife Sanctuary, Boutum Sakor National Park, and the recently created Southern Cardamom National Park. The latter encompasses more than a million acres of tropical rainforests, which safeguard an astounding degree of biodiversity. More than 2,000 species of plants and 50 globally threatened species of vertebrates call the park home, including Sunda pangolins, Siamese crocodiles, Asian elephants, pileated gibbons, Asiatic black bears, hog badgers, and clouded leopards.
The site is about 1.5 hours from Trat, Thailand; 2.5 hours from Sihanoukville, Cambodia; 3.5 hours from Phnom Penh, Cambodia; and five hours from Bangkok, Thailand. All of these cities host airports and a variety of transportation options are available to and from them, including buses and private transfers.
