This secluded property is situated on the crystal-clear waters of Desolation Sound, a deep sound at the northern end of the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, Canada. The area is known for its gorgeous wilderness, warm water, and unbeatable coastal and rainforest views. Stunning wildlife from marine animals to grizzly bears can be spotted. Though technically part of the British Columbia mainland, the Sunshine Coast has all the feel and laid-back attitude of island living. Secluded from the hustle and bustle of modern day life, the vibrant city of Vancouver is a mere 100 miles away.

It's also easy to get to this remote location—guests can drive to Lund, B.C., or fly to the Powell River Airport (a 35-minute flight from Vancouver). They'll get picked up from there and dropped back off at the end of their trip (scheduled once daily and included in the stay). Whether guests choose to arrive by air or water, the scenery is spectacular. Guests should note that this transfer must be scheduled at the time of booking.

This accommodation offers a perfect location for visitors that love spending time off-the-grid, by the ocean and rainforest of Desolation Sound, British Columbia which has some of the warmest waters north of Mexico.

Each stay includes a Indigenous and local guides and we spend out time exploring the Klahoose First Nation Territory by boat watching for marine-life such Humpback Whales, Orcas, Sealions and Dolphins. In late summer and fall, tours to view grizzly bears in their natural habitat are include in each stay.

The property boasts a massive floating dock from which glampers can cast a line or jump into the pristine calm water and enjoy the wood-fire sauna made from local cedar and overlooking the ocean. Kayaks and paddleboards are available for guests to explore the calm Desolation Sound. The waters are warm here and perfect for an ocean swim, visit the wood-fire sauna, or sit back and relax and watch the marine life from the dock or resorts deck. There are two short nature trails that take guests for a short distance into the surrounded rugged coastal rain forest. In the evenings after sunset, there is a campfire area to a Canadian campfire next to the ocean and watch the dark night skies.

Visitors also choose to visit the remote Toba Inlet from late August to October, where the Indigenous guides will take them to view Grizzly Bears. Bear Viewing is done from raised and covered wooden platforms along a remote river. The highlight of the day is watching the bears feeding on salmon.

The city of Vancouver is just 100 miles away making this some of the most accessible wilderness resort based Eco Tours and Grizzly Bear Viewing Tours, hosted by the local Indigenous guides.
