Here are a few of my suggestions of local things to do, places to eat and things to see while you are here.

Walk through Cliff Gilker park. Stunning waterfalls and beautiful trails just a 3 minute drive from Om Sweet Om guest house.

Langdale falls
A beautiful 45 minutes hike to some magical waterfalls, just off the bypass coming from the ferry.

Roberts Creek Day Road falls
A 30 minute hike to more magical waterfalls, just a 5 minute drive away, and the falls are a 10 minute walk in. It's a beautiful trail.

Visit downtown Roberts Creek
This waterfront park, next to the beach, has a large pier with natural driftwood bench seats to enjoy the vast view of the Georgia Strait. During low tide you can walk along the sand bar on the beach. Roberts Creek Pier is the popular location of the annual community Mandala painting celebrating the "Day out of time".

Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Park
Trails and viewing areas for visitors who wish to experience the awesome power of incredibly turbulent tidal rapids. On a 3 metre tide, 200 billion gallons of water flow through the narrows connecting Sechelt and Jervis Inlet. The difference in water levels between one side of the rapids and the other sometimes exceeds 2 metres in height. Current speeds can exceed 30km/hr. The rapids are famous for their spectacular whirlpools and whitewater.

Francis Point
A magical trail close to Pender Harbour. It's a goat trail alongside the ocean with tons of arbutus trees at the end of the trail for a picnic.

Gibsons Tapworks: there is an amazing food truck that my friend runs beside Gibsons Tapworks. Highly recommend the food there. Opens at 1pm.

OTHER PLACES TO VISIT WHILE ON THE SUNSHINE COAST

Bowen Island
The quiet, forested island of 52sq km/20sq mi lives up to its slogan of "Within Reach. Beyond Comparison." Water lovers enjoy kayaking around Bowen Island's sheltered bays, swimming at sandy beaches, and mooring their boats at local marinas. And from mighty Mount Gardner to the shores of Killarney Lake, hiking and mountain biking offer both hilly challenges and pure relaxation.

Savary Island
One of the most beautiful islands in the Strait of Georgia. Located at the entrance to Desolation Sound, it is accessible by float plane, boat, barge or water taxi from Lund. Savary Island is 7.5 kilometers long and 1 kilometer across at its widest point. Savary is known for its white sand beaches, beautiful swimming waters and stunning ocean and mountain views.

Thormanby Island
The Thormanby Islands, one of the Sunshine Coast's best-kept secrets, are the perfect place to spend the day relaxing. Buccaneer Bay Marine Park is the spot for visitors: enjoy a scenic ocean tour by water taxi from Secret Cove Marina to North Thormanby Island. Walk miles along the pristine shoreline, swim the tranquil warm waters, savour a delicious picnic lunch while observing the array of birds and botany. When the tide is low it is possible to walk to South Thormanby, while exploring tidal pools and a variety of colourful marine life.

Gambier Island
The largest of four islands located in Howe Sound, between the Lower Mainland and the Sunshine Coast. Gambier Island provides fabulous views of Howe Sound and the surrounding Coast Mountain Range. The ocean waters are relatively calm in summer, providing endless opportunities for boating, kayaking, and fishing. Ashore, there are beautiful trails for hiking through the forest, camping at Gambier Lake, and mountain biking is popular.

Keats Island
Located out in Howe Sound opposite the community of Gibsons. The 8 square kilometres (3 square miles) Keats Island is a hiking, biking, kayaking and boating rural island with many hidden bays for moorage and hiking trails to explore. From the lower Sunshine Coast side, the closest communities are Port Mellon and Gibsons, BC.
