An abundance of trails, parks, and forests offer excellent opportunities for scenic walks and hikes. There are trails for all ages and skill levels. Cycling is another great way to tour the island and see the sights. Endless beaches offer swimming, suntanning, beach combing, and boating while the ocean offers up boat tours or dinner cruises, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, diving, and paddle boarding.
Salt Spring Island offers more leisurely experiences as well. There are a number of shops, bookstores, coffee shops, and bakeries for those wanting to peruse or take time out to enjoy a yummy treat. Those inclined to strike some poses will appreciate the variety of yoga that has become popular on the Island.
A trip to Salt Spring Island would not be complete without a visit to the Saturday Market. Deemed the "best market in British Columbia," vendors must "make it, bake it, or grow it." Salt Spring Island Cheese is a nice spot to visit with the family.
