Scenic views
The accommodation is just one kilometer away from the Ucluelet Lighthouse Loop of the Wild Pacific Trail, which takes guests on a 2.6-kilometer walk past a mossy rainforest, rugged coastline, spectacular views of Barkley Sound, and the Amphitrite Lighthouse. Just a few kilometers up the Ucluelet Peninsula, guests will find the rest of the trail, highlights of which include an old-growth rainforest, rocky bluffs, a shipwreck from the 1890s, two beaches, areas where seals and sea lions can be seen playing offshore, and a pair of giant red cedars that are more than 800 years old.
About 8.5 kilometers to the north, guests will find the Long Beach Unit of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, where a network of trails winds through forests of cedars and hemlocks. The park also boasts the most extensive area of sand dunes and beaches on all of Vancouver Island. Along the shore, guests will find rocky outcroppings that create tide pools, which they can explore up-close during low tide. Off the shore, they will also find a bird nesting site and sea lion basking area known as the Sea Lion Rocks.
The small and charming downtown area of Ucluelet is just two and a half kilometers to the north, where guests will find dining options, spas, boutiques, galleries, and attractions such as the Ucluelet Aquarium. At the latter, guests can see a variety of marine life species that have been collected from local waters and are released back into them at the end of the season.
The accommodation is about five and a half hours from Vancouver, where guests will find the nearest international airport.
