This a luxury glamping experience perched on an escarpment overlooking Porters Lake in Nova Scotia. Only 30 minutes from Halifax and the airport. Each dome is equipped with a hot tub, seasonal outdoor shower, fire pit and bbq on a large private deck. Inside there is a fireplace, well equipped kitchen, spa inspired bathroom and a star gazing loft with huge skylight. Robes, slippers, custom made soaps are all provided.

- Robes, slippers, aromatherapy diffuser and custom nalu chocolates to give that spa feel!
- Wifi, board games, adult colouring books, Yoga mats, meditation rounds, stargazing loft, cards, singing bowls, sound machine and much more!
- Kitchen: french press with local coffee, Keurig with reusable pods, kettle with a selection of tea, fridge, freezer, electric portable burners, toaster oven, microwave, utensils, dishes, and the basics: salt, pepper, sugar, local honey, oil etc. There are some local snacks and local pre-made meals that can be ordered prior to your stay. Meals should be ordered in advance. To purchase merchandise tray items in the dome go to the Guest Shop or scan the qr code.
- Living Room and Bedroom: Medium firm pillow-top mattress with variety of pillows and blankets ensures you will have a restful sleep. Stylish boho living room with couch and poufs to cozy up by the fireplace and enjoy the view.
- Linens: All Linens provided. Oversized robes and slippers, Hand Made Turkish towels that are also available for sale. Check out on the website in the online Guest Shop
- Self Healing: Yoga Mats, Singing bowls, meditation instruments, selection of enlightening books, zen adult doodling books, board games, puzzles, nature / white noise machine. Enjoy getting cozy by the fireplace or take a nap in our oversized bean bag chair for two in the stargazing zen loft with large skylight.
- Nordic Spa Ritual: Please enjoy the hot tub and cold shower as a mini Nordic Spa experience while we are constructing the Nordic Day Spa. At this point in time, the Nordic Day Spa is under construction with delays that were not anticipated.
- Heating and Cooling: Each dome has a mini split ac/heating unit, Propane fireplace, fans, and multiple heaters to keep the temperature comfortable.
- Handy items: Umbrella, eye masks, slippers, shower cap, blowdryer and our favourite Canadian shampoo, conditioner and body wash are all things you will find in the dome conveniently for your stay.
- Fire-pit and shared amenities: A shared enclosed fire-pit is located on the property and shared sauna is currently being constructed. Please see guest map.
- No Noise or Loud Music, No Partying, No Disruptive Behavior, No Smoking and No Outside Unregistered Guests
- Service & Wifi: There is only limited Rogers service once you turn onto Myra Rd. Please save directions, wifi code and check in instructions in the event that you need help checking in.
- Safety: Fire Alarm, Carbon Monoxide Detector, Fire extinguisher in domes and at Shared Fire pit and First Aid Kits In the event of an emergency, Call 911.

Additional info
Noise – To maintain a peaceful, healing space, please use spa voices and respect the tranquil atmosphere. – No loud music, outside speakers, or ATVs (trail nearby).
Guests – Only registered guests (max 2 adults per dome) are permitted on the premises.
Child Policy – Adults only for a healing-focused experience.
Smoking/Vaping – Prohibited anywhere on the property (violations incur a fee).
Alcohol – Please limit alcohol consumption to your dome or deck.
Cooking & Odors – The dome’s fabric walls absorb odours—please avoid cooking strong-smelling foods (e.g., fish, curry) indoors. – Use the BBQ outside to prevent lingering smells.
Pets – Not allowed to maintain a spa-like environment.
Bugs – We’ve taken steps to reduce mosquitoes and black flies, but they remain part of the ecosystem. – Important: Bug spray, sunscreen, and cleaners can damage dome windows. Apply them away from the dome and deck. – Do not squish bugs on fabric walls (they stain). – Keep lights low at night to enjoy the stars and reduce bugs.
Stargazing Loft – Use the ladder at your own risk.
Skylight Care – Do not use the skylight flap pole to remove snow in winter. The plastic becomes brittle and may crack, causing costly damage. Raising the pole to the skylight is strictly prohibited. Any damage, including punctures, will result in a retained deposit.
Hot Tub – Shower before use to keep it clean for all guests. – Avoid bug spray, oils, sunscreen, and lotions—they damage the hot tub. – Do not sit or lie on the cover (Replacement fee: $1,000). – Thank you for helping us maintain this amenity for all guests!
Accessibility – Due to rugged terrain, Nalu Retreat is not yet accessible. – We are working toward creating an inclusive retreat in the future.
Snow Removal – Walk cautiously, wear proper footwear, and use railings. – Shovels are provided.
Liability – Guests assume all risks related to snow, ice, and severe weather while at the retreat. Nalu Retreat is not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages. Please take necessary precautions to ensure your safety.
Inclement Weather Policy – Exercise extreme caution in snow and icy conditions. – We monitor weather closely and may reschedule stays if needed. – Power outages over a few hours may require early departure. A full refund will be issued (no backup generator available).
Cancellations – Nalu Retreat is a niche accommodation, and cancellations significantly impact us. – 15+ days before check-in: Full refund minus 6% processing fee. – Less than 15 days: No refund. – If Nalu Retreat cancels (e.g., severe weather, natural disaster), guests can choose a full refund or reschedule. We cancel only in extreme cases and do our best to avoid disruptions.
