Located in the verdant Canadian woods near Toronto, Ontario, this solar-powered tree house sleeps two people with a comfortable futon bed. There is a composting toilet inside the cabin and a solar-heated outdoor shower. Towels and linens are kindly provided by the host.
The main room has large windows, a dining table, chairs, cabinets, and a fireplace. The kitchen is fully-stocked with utensils, pots, and pans, and it includes a burner camp stove as well as a small ice box complete with freezer packs. A solar panel supplies electricity and lights, as well as an outlet for charging phones or computers.
The screened covered porch is a highlight of the house, where guests can lounge on the hammock without worrying about bug bites. Drinking water comes in bottles, and water is carried in for cleaning and washing up. Additional guests will not be charged.
Guests can have access to the internet in the landowner’s home, about half a mile away. There is also free parking at the property.

Relaxing in their private haven and taking in the enchanting views is the perfect pastime for glampers, but they can also enjoy a range of activities back on solid ground. Guests may be invited to visit the unique underground home that the landowners own, which has been featured on numerous TV shows and will definitely be memorable. The owner also owns a garden and is known for inviting guests to pick vegetables. To explore the local area hikers can follow a trail outside the door that leads to a magnificent view, or follow one of the many other trails of Durham Forest. There are also trails for snowmobiles.
