Scenic views
This glamping site is just an hour and a half drive north of Toronto, Ontario. The beautiful cottage is located on a year round road, plowed by the Township in the winter to make driving an ease. There are also no steep hills or dangerous curves. Situated in quiet Barefoot Bay on picturesque Six Mile Lake, the property has 268 feet of water frontage and more than one and a half acres of mature forest, towering white pines, and plenty of Muskoka rock. The rental is just a short ride to the marina and Highway 400 is just 10 minutes away. The Six Mile Provincial Park is also located at the south end of the lake.

The lake offers plenty to do from visiting the two local marinas for sundries, bait, movie rentals, and of course ice cream for the kids. The site is located centrally on the lake to access both Marinas. A public boat launch is located across the lake. Six Mile Lake Marina rent boats.

Six Mile Lake is by far one of the prettiest lakes in Muskoka and is dotted with islands and white pines as far as the eye can see. Plenty of rocks in the water so be careful when maneuvering a boat although they are marked with buoys. Pretty Channel offers a scenic waterfall, which, for those who are adventurous can ride down on their bottoms—a favorite among the locals. Enjoy outstanding boating upon pristine and very scenic waters.

The stream that runs along side the cottage enters from the marsh at the rear of the property is lovely for glampers to explore and the bay often features white lily pads. The hosts maintain a natural shoreline so glampers often see Canada geese, loons, herons, small fish, crayfish, frogs, and painted turtles.

A short walk to basketball courts and tennis courts is just down the road. During spring and summer, glampers can enjoy swimming, kayaking, and boat tours on Georgian Bay, fishing, golfing on one of the many local courses in the area, a free water ski show in Bala each Tuesday evening, exploring Muskoka, hiking along the MacDonald River or many snowmobile trails. Visiting the local Whata Cranberry Growers estate.

Shopping in chic Bala and Port Carling. Visiting the famous Big Chute locks entering Georgian Bay. Fall brings Indian Summer, morning mists, loons calling though the crisp air, fox, and beaver plus North America's most spectacular fall colors. Winter offers ice fishing, snow skiing, and snowboarding at Moonstone/Mount St. Louis and Horehore Valley Resorts. Snowmobiling with access to thousands of kilometers of groomed snowmobile trails just minutes away from the cottage and the hosts will provide guests with maps.
