This glamping site is RIGHT on Lake Erie, which means guests will have full views from their space and direct water access. There's nothing like sitting in front of a campfire with the lake as a backdrop. And with no city lights to pollute the night skies, this site gets the best view of the stars. If one has ever dreamt of living in a little log cabin somewhere or being off grid, here's the perfect opportunity to see what this lifestyle is all about! This property has so many offerings it is hard to know where to start. Glampers have said that it’s cozy, quaint, eccentric, inspiring, comforting, and romantic (to name a few). Guests are sure to be touched by this glamping site.
Unlike other listings, the hosts are sharing *their* space with you which means they get an *experience* not just a place to lay their head. This glamping site is beyond relaxing. Guests will cozy in and finally find the time they've been needing to read, write, play music or just take in the beauty of their surroundings. This accommodation consists of an open space with a double bed piled with pillows so guests can sit up & play games or watch a movie. There's cozy double seating by the fire. Behind the living space is a small kitchen area with all the basic supplies (pots, a pan, kettle, Tassimo coffee maker, cutlery, dishes etc), a microwave, small bar fridge, and seating area for two.
There is no running water in this accommodation but the host has taken care of water needs by having a hand pump water station that guests can use for cooking, washing up, or to make tea or coffee. The host has an outdoor camp style kitchen around the back of the property with a propane BBQ and a Coleman stove. There is an outhouse with hand sanitizer a few steps outside of the bunkie. During the winter months, the wood stove is enough to heat the space nice and toasty, guests should just keep in mind that they will have to venture outside for the outhouse. In the summer months the breeze off the lake keeps things comfortable. The spring and fall are absolutely perfect with the best of both worlds, warm enough to venture outside, and cool enough to still need the wood stove for a romantic night in the snug warm heat. It is presumed that guests come to this site to unplug, get quiet, and connect to nature, but if guests are looking for Wi-Fi, hot showers, and shopping, this is not the right fit. This retreat is for being peaceful and remote, enjoying the stars, the birds, and the fresh air with a simple way of being.
During their stay, guests will have full private use of the property, its outdoor kitchen, and a private fire pit with lawn chairs. The host has even included firewood for you so guests don't have to worry about lugging a load. There are horseshoes and a frisbee, two mountain bikes, two kayaks with lifejackets, and a little red canoe guests can borrow if the hosts are not using it. There is direct water access and often (depending on the water level) the host even has a private rock beach guests can lounge on for the day. The port o potty is maintained three times a week during busy season, and once a week during the cooler months so it is always clean and pleasant for guests.
The host is happy to give guests total privacy if that's what their heart desires and if guests have questions or are interested in knowing more about what's happening around the area, they don´t have to be shy! The host lives full time on the property and is available if needed.
