Scenic views
This accommodation is located at a resort on the shores of Lake Couchiching in Orillia, Ontario. Featuring nearly two kilometers of waterfront, a sandy beach, multiple docks, and numerous watercraft available to guests for free or to rent, the resort provides guests with ample opportunities to enjoy the forest-fringed lake, which is about 16 kilometers long, five kilometers wide, and dotted by several islands.

The lake is popular among boaters, water sports enthusiasts, and fishers alike, with largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and lake trout darting about its waters. To the south, the lake tapers into the Atherley Narrows, where it connects to the larger Lake Simcoe, which, in turn, connects to the Trent-Severn Waterway.

To the north, guests will find Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park, which encompasses 82,793 acres of wilderness. A 65-kilometer section of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail runs through the park, winding past forests, wetlands, small lakes, rivers, streams, and bare bedrock plains and uplands, which form rugged cliffs, gorges, and rock ridges. Along the way, guests may encounter beavers, moose, and black bears.

To the southwest, guests will find Scout Valley—a 299-acre park that used to be a Scout camp. Here, guests can enjoy three two-kilometer loop trails that wind their way through wetlands, white pines, creeks, hills, and hardwood bush.

In and around downtown Orillia, guests will find a variety of restaurants, shops, golf courses, as well as attractions such as the Orillia Museum of Art and History, the Orillia Opera House Theatre, and the Leacock Museum and National Historic Site, which was the lakeside retreat of the once world-famous writer, political scientist, and humorist Stephen Leacock.

Other attractions in the area include the Casino Rama Resort, which is only about five minutes to the north, and the Mount St. Louis Moonstone ski resort, which is about 40 minutes to the west. The resort is about two hours from Toronto, where the nearest international airport is located.

Guests can be as active as they want to be during their stay, but they can also relax as much as they want—whether by soaking in the indoor or outdoor hot tubs, unwinding in the sauna or the steam room, or taking advantage of the massage and spa services offered at the on-site day spa.

For off-site activities, guests will have a range of options as well. For more trails and opportunities to enjoy nature, see wildlife, and go birdwatching, they can head to the nearby Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Provincial Park, where they will find a 65-kilometer section of the Ganaraska Hiking Trail, or Scout Valley park, which contains three two-kilometer loop trails.

For dining and shopping, they will find a variety of options in downtown Orillia. For golfing, they will find half a dozen golf courses along the shores of Lake Couchiching alone, with even more to be found in the wider surrounding region. For downhill skiing, guests can hit the slopes at the Mount St. Louis Moonstone ski resort.

Guests wanting to try their luck at gambling can head to the nearby Casino Rama Resort. For arts, culture, and learning about the area's history, guests can visit the Orillia Museum of Art and History, the Orillia Opera House Theatre, and the Leacock Museum and National Historic Site.
