Welcome to our Super Ger. Traditional, handmade Mongolian Yurt. Located within our 50 acres of forests, wetlands and meadows. We encourage “catch and release” nets and buckets provided to explore the creek.
It is a 5 minute trail walk through the magical forest to the yurt. The trail can be uneven, rocky and sometimes muddy. Please dress accordingly.
NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES BEYOND PARKING LOT
***must checkin between 3pm-5pm if you wish assistance to travel down the trail from parking area to the yurt. Walking in can be done during daylight, no after dark arrivals please. (By 8pm)
Inside you will find 2 queens, and 1 singles. Table and chairs, bar area with extra kitchen supplies, drinking water.
Outside you will find a full functioning kitchen with sink and running water, bbq and side burner and griddle. Pots, tongs, plastic plates, cups and metal cutlery are provided. Along with dish soap, dish cloths. A cooler with ice packs are provided. There is no fridge.
An outhouse is just steps off the yurt with a functioning hand washing station. As well as a hot water cedar shower.
Warkworth is a 10 minute drive to the east, Alderville First Nation is a 10 minute drive to the west.
Northumberland Forest is 10 minutes away, with many kilometres of trails to explore.
Rice Lake is 20 minutes away.
No cooking, smoking, vaping, smudging, no open flame of any kind inside yurt. No glass.
Please respect this traditional Mongolian Yurt. It is held together by tension ropes. Please do not touch any ropes. The Bagons (middle posts) must not be leant on or swung on. The entire structure is meant to be as it is to maintain integrity. No climbing, pulling on walls. Please be cautious and respect the yurt.
Campfires only inside chiminea when conditions are safe. (No wind) never leave the fire unattended.
Wood can be gathered from ground. Additional fire wood can be purchased and delivered to the yurt for $10
NO OUTSIDE WOOD PLEASE and by LAW of the MNR
Well behaved pets are welcome - they must be on leash at all times while on the property and never left unsupervised in the yurt – Please do not allow your pets on the furniture.
Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets - failure to do so will result in a $250 charge
Please take out what you take in, no glass
Never leave food or garbage outside - it will attract wildlife! We have raccoons /fishers/coyotes, porcupines and bears in the area.
This is our home, please no foraging or hunting
Our yurts are built with love – please leave them in the condition you find them. Please make sure fire is out when you leave and propane tanks are turned off. Thank you.
