This luxury lakeside retreat is perfect for group getaways in Kawartha Lakes, Central Ontario, Canada, and sleeps up to 20. Located in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands, the first guesthouse has six spectacular bedrooms overlooking the lake. All the rooms have private entrances with comfortable double beds, and exclusive ensuite bathrooms featuring a sink, a toilet, and a shower. There is a dresser table, a standard table, and two chairs for relaxing in each room. Spare cots are also available for use.

The second guesthouse has bunkhouse-style rooms across three floors. The ground floor has four adult cots with a coffee table and chairs. The middle floor features two camping-style adult cots while the upper floor has four hotel-style adult cots. There is one bathroom with a sink, a shower, and a toilet.

The main building features a cozy lounge with cell phone boosters and a spacious dining room with tables and chairs. There are also two staff bedrooms with individual bathrooms, decks, and private entrances. There is a large propane kitchen space with a stove, an oven, a toaster, and a microwave. Guests can make use of the modern, double coffeemaker, the blender, the commercial-size fridge, and the freezer. A range of cookware, utensils, and cutlery are also available for use.

The bar and games room has a charming gas fireplace, a wet bar, a water cooler, an ice machine, and fridges. Guests can make use of the board games, cards, a CD player, and darts. There is also a karaoke machine and a flat-screen TV with a DVD player. Other amenities throughout the retreat include a fire pit, electric baseboard heaters, and propane space heaters. Guests can make use of the fishing and John boats, canoes, kayaks, and sporting equipment. Linens and towels are provided.

Outside the main building, there is a stunning decking area, ideal for eating breakfast while watching the sunrise over the lake. Glampers can also enjoy panoramic views of the sunset over the lake in the evening at the second deck. Both decks are equipped with tables, chairs, lounge chairs, and umbrellas.

Guests can make use of a wide range of modern conveniences throughout the property. The spectacular sunrise can be seen while eating breakfast on the dining deck at the main building. At night the spacious decking area outside the bar and games room offers stunning views of the sunset. Guests will enjoy dining out with cooked meals from the propane barbecue. There is a fire pit, electric baseboard heaters, and propane space heaters for guests to stay warm.

Board games, cards, a CD player, and darts are available to use in the wonderful bar and games room. There is a wet bar, a water cooler, an ice machine, fridges, and a beautiful gas fireplace. A flat-screen TV with a DVD player will keep guests entertained throughout the vacation. Guests can also spend the night singing on the karaoke machine or practicing with the plastic golf set. Towels and linens provided and there are cell phone boosters for hotspots.

Guests will be transported to the lodge by boat at check-in and returned by boat back to the parking lot at check-out. The use of the fishing and John boats, including one tank of fuel per three-person vessel, is included. Free use of canoes, sporting equipment, and all public facilities is available for all guests.

This waterfront retreat is nestled within the Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands Park in Kawartha Lakes, Central Ontario, Canada. Surrounded by a breathtaking 82,800-acre forest area, this property overlooks a stunning lake. The site is located just two hours north of Toronto and under four hours from Ottawa. Blueberry Hill and the Canadian Shield are just across the lake, providing panoramic views of the whole area. Altberg Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Reserve is just is under 20 minutes from the property. The Links at Monck’s Landing Golf Club is just six miles from the property while the Ganaraska Hiking Trail, set in 500-kilometres of wilderness, is just an hour and 30 minutes away.

For nature enthusiasts, the Balsam and Bigwind Lakes are both within an hour and 30 minutes’ drive. The Dahl Forest gives glampers the chance to explore another lush area. Those interested in hitting the slopes can head to Sir Sam’s Ski/Ride, which is just an hour away in Minden.

The property is in the heart of the 35,500-hectare Queen Elizabeth II Wildlands and photographers can take advantage of its majestic scenery. The surrounding area contains over 50 landform vegetation patterns, with the awe-inspiring Canadian Shield standing tall on the landscape. Glampers can look out for deer, moose, beavers, blue herons, and even bears. Wildlife can also be seen in the Altberg Wildlife Sanctuary Nature Reserve, just a few miles away. Bigwind and Balsam Lakes are under 90 minutes from the property and offer spectacular views and nature trails.

Guests can get out on the lake with a rod and reel to catch some of the large and smallmouth bass. Use of the fishing and John boats is available for up to three guests per boat, including a tank of fuel. There is a catch and release policy on the lake and glampers of all ages and abilities can take part. There are also canoes and kayaks for glampers to use for free to explore the scenery of the three-kilometer lake and the Canadian wilderness. There are dozens of rock outcrops, perfect for climbing, just a short journey from the property. Hikers can get across to Blueberry Hill for a relaxed climb. For a more difficult challenge, the hills of the Canadian Shield can be reached on foot, with panoramic views of the lake and the surrounding wildlands at the top. Ganaraska Hiking Trail has 500-kilometres of picturesque routes while Dahl Forest offers charming walks near the Burnt River.

In the summer, guests can relax with a round at The Links at Monck’s Landing Golf Club. Glampers visiting during winter can head to Minden for some fun on the slopes at Sir Sam’s Ski/Ride. Just two hours south of the property, guests can head to Toronto for shopping trips, sightseeing, and a range of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Those looking to chill out don’t need to travel outside of the retreat. Guests can take a dip in the lake, sunbathe on the spacious decks, or have fun at the bar and games room on-site.
