One cabin, two guests, and a bamboo grove that lights up after dark. This sits alone on a hillside outside Pereira, in the heart of Colombia's Coffee Region, and nothing here is shared with anyone.

By day it is a quiet green space. The deck looks straight into a guadual, a stand of giant Colombian bamboo, with a stream running through the ravine below it, and organic curved windows cut into textured stone walls frame the green like paintings. By night the whole grove is lit from below, and the bamboo turns a deep, unreal green around you. It is the reason most guests book, and the thing every one of them photographs.

The cabin itself is modern rather than rustic. A king bed sits under a ribbed wood ceiling threaded with warm LED lighting, with floor-to-ceiling glass on one side so you wake up looking straight into the bamboo. There is a private bathroom with hot water.

The deck is where the days actually happen. A private hot tub shifts through green, blue and violet as the evening goes on. There is a gas grill with a small prep area and a sink, a fire table, a shaded table for two, and hanging chairs facing the grove. A projector turns the deck into an open-air cinema, and a second screen inside means you can keep watching from bed. Disney+ is connected and ready to use. On clear nights the sky here is genuinely dark, and there is a telescope on the deck for it.

Steps lead down from the deck onto a private trail that runs through the bamboo to the stream. The walk is yours whenever you want it.

Breakfast is included. Beyond that there is no full kitchen, by design: the prep area has a fridge, a coffee maker and plates, glasses and cutlery, and the gas grill does the rest. Most guests bring something easy to cook and eat it on the deck.

Your dog is welcome here. There is open ground around the cabin and a grove to walk in, and we do not charge extra for them.

WHAT MAKES THIS ONE DIFFERENT

There is one unit on the whole property, so there is no shared pool, no shared deck and no other guests. A king bed, not a double squeezed into a cabin. A hot tub on your own deck rather than a communal one. An outdoor cinema, a fire table and a telescope, so there is something to do after dark besides go to bed. And dogs stay free.

THE SPACE IS ALL YOURS

The entire cabin and everything on the deck are yours for the duration of your stay: the private hot tub, the grill and prep area, the fire table, the projector and screen, the telescope, the hanging chairs, the trail down to the stream, and the surrounding bamboo grove. Free private parking is on the property, a few steps from the cabin door. The host is available by message throughout your stay, but the space itself is completely private.

Romantic setups can be arranged with advance notice: rose petals, balloons, candles and lighting for anniversaries, birthdays and proposals. This is an optional extra rather than something included in the rate, and it is put together around what you actually want, so message us before you arrive, tell us the occasion, and we will quote it and have it ready when you walk in.

THE AREA

The home sits in the countryside outside Pereira, in Risaralda, at the center of Colombia's Coffee Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The surrounding land is coffee country and secondary forest, green all year, with a climate that stays comfortable day and night. Wildlife comes with the territory: hawks perch on the railing a few metres from the deck, hummingbirds work the flowers, and there is a great deal of birdsong at first light.

Within a short drive you can reach working coffee farms that run tastings and tours, the thermal springs of Santa Rosa de Cabal, the Cocora Valley and its wax palms, and the painted mountain towns of Salento and Filandia. Matecaña International Airport in Pereira is the nearest airport. Most guests, however, arrive and do not leave until checkout.

GETTING THERE

The property is easiest to reach by car, and free private parking is on site a few steps from the door. Uber, DiDi and InDriver all serve the property, so guests without a car can fly or drive into Pereira and take a ride for the last stretch. We send exact directions and a location pin once a booking is confirmed.

GOOD TO KNOW

This is a cabin inside a working bamboo grove in the Colombian countryside, and that is the experience: birds start early, weather moves through quickly, and insects are a normal part of rural life here.

There is no full kitchen. The prep area, the fridge and the gas grill cover simple meals, so bring food that is ready or easy to cook.

The cabin is designed for two guests and is not set up for children or additional visitors. It sits on a slope with steps and uneven ground, and the trail down to the stream is a natural path, so the property is not wheelchair accessible.

A first aid kit, a stretcher and a fire extinguisher are on site.

The hot tub is prepared ahead of your arrival. Let us know your approximate check-in time so it is ready and warm when you get here, and tell us in advance if you would like a romantic setup arranged, which is an optional extra quoted separately.
