Drake Bay is a breathtaking town on the southwest coast of the country, with one of the world’s most celebrated national parks, Corcovado National Park, situated just a few minutes away from the town center. The village also boasts stunning white sand beaches, from Playa Colorada right outside the property to Playa Ganado just north of the town. Guests can also take boats to Caño Island to the west in the Pacific Ocean, where they can see whales, dolphins, monkeys, and indigenous bird species that inhabit the jungle there. Guests can also visit the Punto Rio Claro National Wildlife Refuge, the Terraba Sierpe National Wetlands, and the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve, all of which have miles of hiking and horseback riding trails to explore throughout the year.

Nearby Corcovado National Park is renowned for its stunning hikes to caves, lakes, and waterfalls, meaning guests can book a tour with the glamping hosts or a nearby tour group in Drake Bay and spend the day exploring the park on foot, on horseback, or in a safari jeep. Glampers can also spend the night in San Pedrillo before heading into the park for two full days in the rainforest. Caño Island off the coast is ideal for those who want to snorkel, scuba dive, whale watch, or swim with dolphins, with various boats headed out to the island scheduled throughout the day. Glampers can also tube on the Agujitas River or hike through the Sierpe Mangroves to the north, then return to Drake Bay for dinner in one of the local beachfront restaurants situated near the rental.
