There is a new, heated, nine meter pool which gives glampers a great excuse to lie back and relax on a sun lounger in the shade of a parasol while the kids have fun splashing around. What better way to enjoy the perfect lazy summer day?
Cooking and eating al fresco around the campfire is an experience glampers won’t want to miss. Both the safari tents and yurts have their own campfire with all the requisite pots and cooking equipment. Plus, there are gas burners, and in the adjacent farmhouse, there’s a fully equipped kitchen so if glampers want to cook indoors for a change, they’ll find everything they need.

- Laundry service
In the on-site farm shop, guests can purchase free range eggs, succulent lamb, a large range of seasonal fruit and vegetables, plus local honey, home made jams, chutneys, and preserves. Kids will love helping the hosts pick vegetables, collect eggs, and feed the chickens. In late summer, glampers can take to the woods to forage for blackberries, nuts, and mushrooms.
Monday night is barbecue night, when the hosts cook a selection of their farm-reared meat over logs sourced from the woodland and everyone gathers around for some delicious wood-smoked food. They also make a selection of salads and desserts using fresh, garden produce. This fun, relaxing evening is the perfect opportunity to have a night off from cooking and get to know fellow campers.
Friday evenings are a real gastronomic treat. It’s when all guests are invited to join the hosts for a four-course 'table d'hôte' dinner; a culinary feast made from the best of the property's freshly picked, flavoursome home produce. Everyone gets together around the table in the farmhouse garden for an evening to remember. There’s a set menu, plus vegetarian options and kids’ portions so everyone can join in.

Adventures and sports
Despite the pool, the farm animals, and the beautiful scenery, guests will find plenty to do outside of the farm in the local area. From walking to cycling, wildlife to water sports, there’s plenty to keep glampers and their family entertained all day long. If children want to see lots of lambs and calves in the fields then it’s best to visit early in the season. In June the typical tourist sights are much quieter, and walking, cycling and horseriding are all more enjoyable than in the heat of the summer. However, if glampers want to go swimming or canoeing in the local lakes, and get a perfect tan, then July and August are perfect months to visit.
If glampers love spending vacations seeking out the local wildlife, this region is perfect. Heavily wooded, there’s an extensive network of rivers and lakes to explore where guests can find a range of fascinating flora and fauna. Around the farm, guests can maybe catch a glimpse of wild boar, badgers, foxes, roe deer, beech martins, and red squirrels. Birdwatchers should bring their binoculars and visit the wetlands.
Explore by bike or foot
There are many kilometres of tracks, in the woods and between local hamlets. The hosts can provide maps and route suggestions, and guests can borrow bikes.
The nearest lake with a beach is in La Souterraine. It’s clean and safe for swimming and has a playpark and restaurant. Many lakes and some rivers have canoeing, kayaking, sailing, and waterskiing. Check out Lac d'Eguzon, Lac de Saint-Pardoux, and Lac de Vassivière.
Swing through the trees
Give the kids something to really go ape about. Kids and adults alike will love the sheer exhilaration of activity centres such as Tarz en Arbre Limoges and Arbre en Arbre Vassivière.
The nearest town to La Tuilerie is La Souterraine (6km away) where glampers will find a good selection of independent shops, as well as a cultural centre, sports centre, and a cinema (with some English language films). In the centre of this pretty old market town is a medieval church that’s worth a visit. Plus, there are a good selection of restaurants, and a local produce market twice a week where guests can stock up on local cheeses, meats, and other delicious treats.
Also within easy reach of the farm are the wolf park Les loups de Chabrières at Guéret, the giant maze and activity park Labyrinthe Géant des monts de Guéret and the famous WWII village of Oradour-sur-Glanes.
The city of Bordeaux is worth a day trip. Guests can explore this coastal town´s markets and taste some of the famous wine. Cycle along the river, tour the city and appreciate all it´s fine architecture, or simply sample the fine cuisine and watch the world go by.
