Romatic Hilltop Caravan | Penne d'Agenais, France

Caravan in Penne d'Agenais, Southern France

2 guests • 1 bedroom • 1 bed • 1 bathroom

New

Set high on a hillside in rural southwest France, this charming caravan offers a rare blend of simplicity, comfort, and deep immersion in nature. With sweeping views across the valley and woodland as your backdrop, it’s a place designed for slowing down, breathing deeply, and reconnecting with the land.

The caravan is thoughtfully laid out and surprisingly well equipped. Inside, you’ll find a cosy dining area with sofas that convert into a comfortable double bed, a full cooker, fridge, sink, and storage cupboards, plus a private bathroom with a hot shower. Modern comforts include electricity, heating, a fan, radio and CD player with speakers, and Wi-Fi suitable for browsing and quiet working. Everything has been arranged to make the space feel warm, functional, and welcoming.

Step outside and the experience expands. The caravan enjoys its own private terrace and garden area, perfectly positioned to take in the panoramic views. Mornings are accompanied by birdsong and open skies; evenings bring golden sunsets and star-filled nights. It’s an ideal spot for outdoor dining, reading, or simply sitting still and letting the pace of life soften.

Guests staying in the caravan also have access to the wider retreat facilities on site. These include a wood-fired hot tub made from Douglas fir, offering long soaks with uninterrupted views across the countryside, and unique earthship-style outdoor showers built from earthbags, lime and cob, with glass bottle walls that shimmer beautifully in the light. There’s a living-roof outdoor kitchen adorned with herbs, a cob pizza oven built from clay sourced on the land, an organic vegetable garden, and a handcrafted timber roundhouse with a living roof, a space for yoga, quiet reflection, or simply sitting by the fire.

An outdoor 4K cinema, yoga decking, forest walks, and plenty of quiet corners complete the experience. Optional wellness treatments - including relaxation yoga, breathwork sessions, and hot stone massage with luxury essential oil blends, can all be booked in advance.

The location is equally special. You’re just a short drive from the medieval bastide village of Penne-d’Agenais and several award-winning Beaux Villages de France, with vibrant markets, historic architecture, and excellent local food and wine. The surrounding area is rich in walking trails, ancient pilgrimage routes, and unspoilt countryside.

This caravan is ideal for guests who appreciate authenticity over polish, nature over novelty, and comfort without excess. It’s a peaceful hilltop hideaway where even the simplest moments - a shower under the sky, a meal cooked outdoors, a soak at dusk become quietly memorable.
