This outstanding luxurious vacation rental is set high atop a hill on secluded land overlooking Lake Maggiore in Maccagno, Italy. Guests staying here will be treated to the ultimate freedom from disturbance as there are no other properties within sight or sound. That said, there are plenty of conveniences and destinations within a few miles of the property, many which can be reached by bus, with the closest stop being less than a mile away.
The town of Maccagno is 10 minutes away. It is a popular destination from spring to late fall due to its proximity to the Switzerland border which is only four miles away. There are shops and restaurants within a mile and a half, and the town center, railway station, ferry port, ski lift, and beach are all within about two miles. By car, Lugano and Locarno, Switzerland are a mere half hour away, and Milan can be reached in about one hour and twenty minutes by car or train. Lake Como is approximately one hour and fifteen minutes drive and is definitely worth the trip.
