This accommodation is located in the countryside of the medieval village of Sarnano, where it is situated in the rolling hills of Italy's Macerata province. To the south and west, the area is surrounded by Monti Sibillini National Park (Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini). Straddling the border between the Marche and Umbria regions of Italy, the park encompasses 70,000 hectares (172,973 acres) of rugged, natural landscapes that are centered around the peaks of the Sibillini Mountains—one of the most scenic sections of the Apennines. The park's lush meadows, wooded hills, alpine lakes, and river valleys provide habitats to an abundance of wildlife and birds, such as wolves, chamois, brown bears, porcupines, golden eagles, peregrine falcons, snow finches, and owls, along with 1,800 species of plants, which include a panoply of mountain flowers such as martagon lilies, edelweiss, and a variety of orchids. The park is also dotted with 18 charming towns, which are nestled between the mountains and are full of historic castles, abbeys, artwork, and town centers dating back to the Middle Ages.
