There are 23 luxury tents on site, each tucked away in some part of the property. There is an additional “honeymooners” tent for a larger accommodation, with more privacy and beautiful décor. Each tent has its own en-suite bathroom, a private veranda with furniture and views overlooking the lake, and a roof of Papyrus for shade. There is complimentary room service as well as a laundry service.

Rates include the accommodation, as well as all the meals and afternoon teas, your morning tea or coffee, and boat transfers to and from the main land. You may request to have your meals in your tent at no extra costs. The dining room overlooks the lake and you can have all your meals here if you wish. Light lunches consist of salads, cold cuts and pasta dishes. The dinner is a 5-course menu, and you have different options for your main plate. Wednesday and Saturday dinners are a barbecue served outdoors by the pool. A Champagne Breakfast can be arranged at an additional cost, where the meal is held on a secluded rocky beach at the end of the Island after a scenic boat excursion around the lake.

The pool bar is open from 10am to 6pm every day, and the main bar is open for lunch and dinner. Cocktails are available. Communication is by wireless telephone and radios – cell phone signals are not reliable. The transfers from and to the local airstrip are complimentary, as well as the walking and boat excursions. Drinks can be had at sunset on Lesukut Island where entertainment is carried out by traditional dances. Water sports and fishing are also complimentary.

Location + Surroundings

The lake is about 208km north of Nairobi, and to the west is the southern part of the Elgeyo Escarpment and the Tugan Hills. The island is 3,190 meters above sea level. The Rift Valley that the lake and island find themselves in extend 3,000 miles, from the Red Sea shore to the coast of Mozambique in the southeast of the continent.

Game Cruises: Being in such a rich environment you have so many possibilities for observing the wildlife.
Culture Walks: You can walk around and across the island and visit the school. This will give you a look into the culture of Njema.
Lake Shore Cruise and Champagne Breakfastt: There is an early morning tour around the lake, where you can observe the wildlife waking up. You also have the option of having your breakfast served at the end of the tour on a secluded Island Beach. There will be staff there to attend to your every need and desire. This comes at an additional fee.
Sundowner on Gibraltar Rock: You can take a cruise to Lesukut Island and climb to the top of the rock to have a perfect view of the Baringo sunset. You will be provided with drinks. This comes at an additional fee.
