This lodge is perfect for those adventurers out there with plenty to do in the surrounding wilderness. Guests can head out onto the Rangitikei River for some of the best whitewater rafting in the country or even do a full day or overnight scenic river rafting trip, which is suitable for all ages. There are horse treks over the area's spectacular hill country, too.

In addition, Ruahine Forest Park is just to the east of the site, and the Turoa/Whakapapa ski fields are within a two-hour drive. In the winter, guests can race down the mountains on skis, while the summer months bring excellent hiking and mountain biking trails.

Given the lodge is situated right next to the aforementioned river, during the summer, guests can enjoy a swim in the river or a hike up the hill on the other side. For those just looking to relax, the property has an on-site spa with a hot tub and two saunas. The lodge has a bar and a restaurant offering home-cooked meals using fresh produce from the on-site gardens.
