San Martín

Based in the northeast jungles of Peru, San Martin is a lush region defined by the Amazon rainforest. It’s encompassed by pretty landscapes; you’ll find waterfalls, orchids, butterflies, jungles, and crystal-clear lakes. That said, your hiking, biking, and swimming adventures in the region will be complemented by said landscapes, making for quite the vivid memories to make. You should especially visit the towering waterfalls of Ahuashiyacu and Shapaja for some of the best photos. If you’re looking to reach some of these crystal lakes, check out Lake Lindo and Lake Azul. Towns and cities surround both bodies of water as well, making it easy for you stock up on whatever items you need before taking to the mountain ranges in the region.
