Things to do in Shoalhaven when camping: NSW holidays

Where do we even begin. There are so many things to do in Shoalhaven when you go camping. Explore the beaches in Jervis Bay, where you can spot bottlenose dolphins, fur seals, little penguins, and sea dragons. A great way to spend an afternoon in the area is doing the White Sands Walk along the coastline and stopping for a picnic at Blenheim Beach. The Shoalhaven region is well-known for its surf culture, and here you can catch a wave all year long if you head to beaches like Mollymook or Culburra. The Shoalhaven coast is, of course, also a great place for paddleboarding, kayaking, swimming, fishing, and many more water sports. In the north of the region, the Shoalhaven River flows through Nowra, and the Kangaroo River in Kangaroo Valley are two great places to go kayaking. You’ll find an abundance of watersports basically anywhere you can find water: Lake Conjola, Callala Bay, Sussex Inlet, and more. There are also many bushwalking trails in the region, with spectacular views of both the coast and the hinterland. Really anywhere you look, you’ll find some great things to do and see, including scenic drives, amazing wineries, waterfalls, antique stores, beaches, and more. Lastly, the Shoalhaven region is one of Australia’s leading pet-friendly destinations, with many beaches, parks, and trails that allow dogs. So whether you want to go camping with pets, are planning family holidays with kids, or searching for romantic weekend getaways, everyone is sure to find something they love in the area.
