Scenic views
This property is located in a hamlet of three Grade-two listed stone properties in the secluded Merrydale Valley, near Slaithwaite and Marsden. It was here where, in the early 1600s, the first water-powered mill in Colne Valley was built. It's mill ponds and river are surrounded by woodland and fields making it the perfect base for scenic walks across the moors, for a spot of early morning bird watching, or for guests looking to explore the local area. Surprisingly for such a rural location, Huddersfield is only 10 kilometers away and Halifax not much further. Slaithwaite, the nearest village, is a 20-minute walk away.

The nearest pub, The Rose and Crown, is a short, but very steep walk through woodland on the ancient packhorse route between Halifax and Manchester that used to be used for the transporting of wool and cloth. Slaithwaite has a train station where guests often leave their cars when they want a day in Manchester (a 35-40 minute journey away).

Guests can rest assured this property is the ideal hub for guests looking to explore this area. Many guests start their mornings with a walk around the stunning gardens. Or, they can take a day trip to Emmerdale Village, found just beyond Leeds. This can be visited on the third Sunday of every month. Additionally, there's a traditionally farmers' market in Holmfirth that's definitely worth a visit.

For the more athletically inclined visitors, a spot of tennis on the courts near Masden might be in the cards. Or, perhaps a round of golf at one of the 11 nearby courses. Alternatively, those looking to indulge in a day of pampering, the Titanic Spa is only two and a half miles away.

For culture lovers, the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a must. In addition to world-class exhibitions, there are over 60 sculptures available to view all created by renowned artists, including Henry Moore, James Turrell, and Andy Goldsworthy.
