Catskills cottage rental for weekend getaways in NY

Glampers who visit this modern cottage in the Catskill Mountains will notice the gleaming wide plank pine floors, a cathedral ceiling and soaring open spaces filled with natural light. The cottage features two roomy upstairs bedrooms, with comfortable beds and modern linens, antique furniture, alcove windows, and plenty of natural light. The first bedroom has a queen-size bed, a dresser, a full-length mirror, an antique library table, a leather reading chair and a large walk-in closet. The other bedroom has a double bed, a full-length mirror, a rocking chair, a small writing table, a dresser and a uniquely placed window that looks down into the downstairs room. Both bedrooms have windows that overlook the ample woods beyond, the outdoor gazebo and the rain garden.

The downstairs room, or "great room," features an antique hutch, a comfortable seating area, a formal dining table, a tuned piano and plenty of possibility for all types of activities. It has quiet corners for a nap or to curl up with a good book, as well as open spaces for yoga and meditation, dancing, hosting a dinner party, giving the kids room to play, or any artistic pursuit that may require solitude and concentration. This is the perfect room, with nature beckoning from every window, for stretching out on a rainy day, sharing family stories, and playing games.

The ground floor also features a full kitchen and dining area complete with a wood-burning stove, a tiled bath, a laundry unit, and an entry wall with a generous number of hooks for hanging coats and bags after a day exploring.
The kitchen is fully equipped for all cooking, baking and dining needs. For dining al fresco, there is a barbecue grill outside, a picnic table at the fire pit, and a screened gazebo with a round table that seats six.

The wood-burning stove is a wonderful option for chilly mornings and evenings. Firewood and kindling is provided. The cottage also has a state-of–the-art heating system and foam insulation, which keeps the space warm and cozy in winter. Each room (upstairs and down) has its own thermostat for individual comfort.

The bright, newly tiled bathroom features a sink, toilet, and shower.

Other features include a whirlpool washer and dryer, Ironing board, high-speed internet service, cell phone service, yoga mats, and meditation pillows.

This glamping site is unique in that it began as a two-story Quonset hut, built in the 1980s. A full renovation created an uncluttered, airy space with a unique design, featuring many original elements such as a wood stove, brownstone doors, and foundation pillars. Design touches are everywhere, but unobtrusive and minimal. This two-story, two-bedroom private rental has a full kitchen, linens, a fire circle and a gas Weber grill—everything guests need for a comfortable stay. There is also a piano and great acoustics in the great room!

This cottage features lots of privacy, beautiful forest, bird and wild life viewing, and acres of wild high bush blueberries to pick in season, near the Delaware River and the fabulous hamlet of Narrowsburg. It is close to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, and family-friendly Lake Superior (located in a state park, with lifeguards), with beautiful roads for walking and touring. Skinners Falls is the best spot for swimming in the Delaware, and Tusten Mountain Trail is one of many nearby hiking trails. The area has theaters, art galleries, shops, and historic museums and sites—also fine and family dining. The cottage can morph into whatever you want it to be: retreat, rest, family time, cultural high life, nature adventuring, or all of the above.
