Outside, guests will be treated to a private balcony with patio seating where they can enjoy the view overlooking the stunning grounds and watch the evening sunset over the tall mountain peaks. Once the sun goes down, guests may wish to make their way to the outdoor firepit to join fellow lodgers for a toasty evening under the stars.

The Forsthaus Restaurant offers German and Austrian influenced cuisine on weekends from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Slide Mountain (the highest peak in the Catskills) acts as a backdrop while the 65.4 mile Esopus Creek (ideal for fishing and tubing) headwaters run right through the property. There are five miles of mountain hiking trails waiting to be explored and an inviting outdoor pool for cooling off upon return. Several small towns are accessible within a half hour of the property including Fleischmanns, Phoenicia, Margaretville, Mount Tremper, Pine Hill, and Woodstock. The Catskills area is known for the Catskill Forest Preserve, home to abundant wildlife and offering hiking trails and ski resorts including the popular Hunter and Belleayre Mountains.
