Yurt • 5 guests • Bathroom
This superb yurt rental is based in the town of Luray, Virginia, on the Shenandoah River and makes for a unique vacation experience for up to five guests in Page County. The yurt is available year-round and is within five minutes of the spectacular George Washington National Forest.
Sleeping arrangements include a queen-size bed, a full-size futon bunk bed with a twin bed on top, and the queen-size bed has a heated mattress pad for extra warmth while winter glamping. Comforters and pillows are provided, but guests must bring their own linens, blankets, and/or sleeping bags. Linens can be provided for an additional fee of $25 per two people, or $50 for all five guests, which is payable upon arrival.
Guest will have access to a full-size "comfort station," or bathroom facilities, which is within steps of the yurt. There are men's and women's rooms, including two shower stalls, three toilets, and sinks, as well as hot water and propane gas wall heaters. Toilet paper and hand soap are provided, but towels are not.
Additionally, inside the yurt, there are two armchairs and a round table that comes with four additional chairs, as well as a mini-fridge, a microwave, a toaster, a waffle iron, a Crock-Pot, a coffee pot, a blender, and two portable heating and air conditioning units. There is also an oak cabinet electric fireplace with three flame settings and a flat-screen television with a DVD player. Guests will need to bring their own DVDs.
Outside the yurt, there is a picnic table; a fire pit that doubles as a charcoal barbecue; and a separate pedestal charcoal barbecue.
All yurts are at the edge of the river, offering guests a picturesque view as the sun rises and sets. They feature log-accented porches that give them a rustic feel. In addition, the property offers a comfort station with hot showers, three toilets, three sinks, and two shower stalls in each men's and ladies rooms, which are clean and well-maintained.
Guests will also have on-site electricity, water hydrants, a playground set for the children, fire pits that double as charcoal grills, and a picnic table. Guests can ask the site's hosts about canoes, kayaks, and tube rentals (A complimentary shuttle to the bridge can be provided with advance request, and guests can then float back to camp in tubes. This stretch of river is about two hours and 30 minutes of floating depending on the level of the river.)
