San Juan National Forest

The San Juan National Forest is located in southwestern Colorado, spanning over 10 different counties and home to the majority of the southern part of the San Juan Mountains. With over 1.8 million acres of national forest, give yourself plenty of time to discover it all. A popular scenic driving loop, partially along the Million Dollar Highway, will allow glampers to see the cities of Durango, Silverton, Ouray, and Telluride, of which Telluride is well known for its ski resorts for glampers who’d like to get a taste of the Colorado snow while on vacation. Be sure to also plan for hiking trips, however, when glamping near the San Juan National Forest, as there are many excellent trails throughout this vast woodland landscape. Mountain climbing is another popular activity here, too, but what seems to primarily keep visitors coming back for more are the breathtaking views throughout the drives, the hikes, and the climbs while luxury camping in the San Juan National Forest.
