41 miles straight-line distance66 kilometers straight-line distanceThis rental is located in Finley Point, Montana—a forested peninsula that juts out into the southern waters of Flathead Lake—the largest natural freshwater lake in the United States, west of the Mississippi. From the rental, guests will enjoy views of the lake's Skidoo Bay and the Mission Mountains. A series of stone steps lead right down to the lakeshore, where the lake's 197 square miles of surface area and 161 miles of shoreline await guests' exploration and enjoyment. Boats, kayaks, and canoes can be rented from a variety of local outfitters in the towns of Polson and Big Arm, and an abundance of fish can be caught in the lake's waters, including mountain whitefish, yellow birch, largemouth bass, and a variety of trout.
Northwest of Finley Point, guests will find one of the lake's top attractions: Wild Horse Island State Park—a 2,160 acre island full of old-growth Ponderosa pine forest, bighorn sheep, mule deer, songbirds, waterfowl, bald eagles, falcons, and five wild horses To the east and the north lies Flathead National Forest and Glacier National Park—the former encompassing more than two acres of natural splendor, the latter boasting more than 700 miles of trails amid some of the West's most spectacular mountain landscapes.
The rental is about an hour from Kalispell, where the nearest international airport is located.Activities near Polson
