In the master bedroom, guests can find a queen-size bed, a lovely bay window with cushion and pillows, a built-in writing desk, private bath and access to a private deck. The loft features a full-size bed, two comfortable chairs, skylight, and vaulted ceilings. Additional guests will find that the queen-size sleeper-sofa with available air-topper will perfectly suit their needs.
The master bathroom includes a sink, and a toilet with a walk-in shower, while the second bathroom on the main level features a combination bathtub and shower instead. For added luxury, soft linens and fresh towels are provided by the hosts.
In the living room area, vacationers will find a warm, wood-burning stove, 16-foot-tall vaulted ceilings with skylights, gorgeous pine floors, and lots of colorful seating options. The nearby kitchen offers a full complement of cooking and dining supplies for those who choose to eat in, including an oven with four-burner stovetop, microwave, waffle iron, food processor, blender, coffeemaker, tea kettle, and toaster. There is an apartment-sized refrigerator there, and a full-sized fridge with generous freezer for additional food storage in the entry area. A full-sized washer/dryer unit is located next to that fridge.
Outside, enjoy the grill and deck space that looks out over the tranquil mountains an endless greenery. This is the perfect spot to savor a morning cup of coffee while enjoying the fresh, mountain air and birdsong.

If any buttery popcorn smears on guests clothes during game night, they simply throw the dirty laundry into the washer and dryer.
Wintertime vacationers can stay warm with the two wood-burning stoves and provided firewood after a long day of skiing. During summer, the outdoor grill will be perfect for barbecuing as guests admire the view of the ridge for which the property is named. For added fun, there is a bicycle that guests can take out for a spin.
But maybe the best "activity" most times of year is simply sitting on the second-floor deck, looking out at the trees and meadow, listening to the birds, and watching the sun change the shadows through the course of the hours.

The property is on a cul de sac, so it is private without being remote. There is little to no traffic in the area and previous guests have noted, "A passing car is an event!" Neighbors are about 150 yards to either side, through trees that hide them completely in the summer. The lot includes about three acres of mowed area for picnics, games, and just strolling.
The village of Newfane, just three miles north up Route 30, is a classic New England village, with three or four white-clapboard/black-shuttered public buildings dominating the town common. The Fall Festival there over an early weekend in October provides fun for the whole family.
The town of Brattleboro, served by Amtrak, is less than 20 minutes away and features great shopping and dining possibilities. Interstate 91 is there as well, providing fast and easy access to points north and south. Boston, Massachusetts, is around two hours away. The nearest airport is BDL (Hartford/Springfield) about 90 minutes south. Rates and nonstops may be more appealing at BOS, Logan International Airport, in Boston.

Winter guests can hit the slopes at Mount Snow or Stratton Mountain nearby, or Bromley and Okemo a bit further. Cross-Country and snowshoeing trails are available in Grafton and elsewhere. In summer, there are several swimming holes nearby—everything from river-bathing at the confluence of the West and Rock Rivers, about a mile away, to the "secret" pool called "Indian Love Song" just a bit farther. You can find a beach experience at the Townshend Dam, five miles north. Tubing, canoeing, and kayaking are all possible with rentals in Brattleboro. great hiking trails can be found nearby at Windmill Hill, along with biking trails and fishing on the West River, the Rock River, and smaller streams and ponds. For golf, guests can try the Brattleboro Country Club or the Stratton Mountain Golf Course. Kids can enjoy petting zoos at the Grafton Cheese Outlet (home of Grafton Village Cheese!) in Brattleboro and to the west at Adams Farm in Wilmington.
For the artistically inclined, there are many galleries in the area, and two notable annual music festivals: Marlboro College and the Yellow Barn Festivals.
A short and scenic drive away, check out The Vermont Country Store in the town of Weston, Vermont. It features old-fashioned candy, clothing, and goods such as warm pajamas and quality accessories. A stop here will bring glampers back in time as they munch on retro candy and explore the novelty goods. Guests shouldn't miss the scenic village of Newfane itself, with a 5-star restaurant close at hand (The Four Columns Inn) and further north, Grafton village.
Some of the best "activity," however, is inactivity. Most guests love to sit out on the second-level deck with a glass of wine, listening to the birds, watching the sun make its way across the sky. The stars at night are not to be believed. If the weather doesn't encourage the outdoors, then sit inside with a fire in the woodstove and feel all the stress of daily life fall away.
