The ten-acre lot invites outdoor fun, such as picnics, photography, cloud-watching, games of catch. Inside, guests will enjoy modern amenities such as high-speed internet access, Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen television. If the weather turns inclement, guests can enjoy the complimentary games and books,
If any buttery popcorn smears on guests clothes during game night, they simply throw the dirty laundry into the washer and dryer.
Wintertime vacationers can stay warm with the two wood-burning stoves and provided firewood after a long day of skiing. During summer, the outdoor grill will be perfect for barbecuing as guests admire the view of the ridge for which the property is named. For added fun, there is a bicycle that guests can take out for a spin.
But maybe the best activity most times of year is simply sitting on the second-floor deck, looking out at the trees and meadow, listening to the birds, and watching the sun change the shadows through the course of the hours.

The property is on a cul de sac, so it is private without being remote. There is little to no traffic in the area and previous guests have noted, "A passing car is an event!" Neighbors are about 150 yards to either side, through trees that hide them completely in the summer. The lot includes about three acres of mowed area for picnics, games, and just strolling.
The village of Newfane, just three miles north up Route 30, is a classic New England village, with three or four white-clapboard/black-shuttered public buildings dominating the town common. The Fall Festival there over an early weekend in October provides fun for the whole family.
The town of Brattleboro, served by Amtrak, is less than 20 minutes away and features great shopping and dining possibilities. Interstate 91 is there as well, providing fast and easy access to points north and south. Boston, Massachusetts, is around two hours away. The nearest airport is BDL (Hartford/Springfield) about 90 minutes south. Rates and nonstops may be more appealing at BOS, Logan International Airport, in Boston.

For the artistically inclined, there are many galleries in the area, and two notable annual music festivals: Marlboro College and the Yellow Barn Festivals.
A short and scenic drive away, check out The Vermont Country Store in the town of Weston, Vermont. It features old-fashioned candy, clothing, and goods such as warm pajamas and quality accessories. A stop here will bring glampers back in time as they munch on retro candy and explore the novelty goods. Guests shouldn't miss the scenic village of Newfane itself, with a 5-star restaurant close at hand (The Four Columns Inn) and further north, Grafton village.
Some of the best "activity," however, is inactivity. Most guests love to sit out on the second-level deck with a glass of wine, listening to the birds, watching the sun make its way across the sky. The stars at night are not to be believed. If the weather doesn't encourage the outdoors, then sit inside with a fire in the woodstove and feel all the stress of daily life fall away.
