This cottage is located about two miles west of Deer Harbor, Washington, where it is situated on the western shore of Orcas Island. Set right at the water's edge, the cottage provides guests with sweeping, panoramic views of the Salish Sea and the forested shores of Jones Island, San Juan Island, and Spieden Island. The views are especially spectacular at sunset, with the sun sinking below the distant island-fringed horizon directly in front of the cottage and casting myriad shades of red and orange over the vast expanse of water in between.

The surrounding sea and land are teeming with wildlife, including otters, seals, sea lions, dolphins, orcas, blue herons, eagles, loons, cormorants, seagulls, rabbits, and deer. About 11 minutes to the east, guests will find the Turtleback Mountain South Trailhead, which leads into the Turtleback Mountain Preserve.
