Chickamauga

Known as the “Gettysburg of the South,” Chickamauga has a rich Civil War heritage that is evident as you explore the city. It is home to numerous important and interesting historic sites, such as the Gordon-Lee Mansion, Lee and Gordon’s Mills, and the new Veterans of All Wars Museum. Every September a "War Between the States Days" festival is held, which commemorates the reconciliation of the Confederate and Union veterans who came together in memory of those who had lost their lives in the earlier Battle of Chickamauga. It is also home to the nation's oldest and largest military park, the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. It is also close to plenty of excellent hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, and much more.
