Visit North Carolina: Asheboro weekend getaways

This quiet, secluded cabin is located in a stunning serene setting overlooking the Uwharrie River, near Asheboro, North Carolina, set on 110 acres of forested and pastured farm land. The best spot on the property is on the cabin porch watching the river roll by. We are very sorry but no pets allowed at the cabin.

If guests are looking for a place to get away in nature, relax, and rejuvenate, then this is the place! Once guests arrive and take a deep breath, they will never want to leave! Lay in the hammock on the porch while listening to the sound of water falling over rocks, and soak up the peace and tranquility. Meander along the forested walking trails around the property and enjoy the wildlife, flowers, plant life, and beautiful sitting areas. Or, have a picnic, fish in the pond, swim in the pool, kayak, visit the bees, walk the orchard, find all the bird houses along the walking trails, or go star gazing at the open sky and beautiful stars at night. These are just some of the on property offerings at one of the best cabin rentals Asheboro, NC can offer.

The cabin is hand-crafted from pine and cedar and is an amazing piece of architecture. The smell of cedar wafts by as guests walk in the door. Although the hosts call it a “cabin”, it is because it is made with all kinds of wood and sits by a river in the forest, a previous guest called it the ritziest of cabins. The rental can comfortably sleep six and has all the conveniences of a home, but with the peace and serenity of living in nature. It has two bedrooms, a bath, a living area, a dining area, a full kitchen, heating and air conditioning, a fireplace, a TV, wireless internet, a wraparound lower porch, two upstairs porches, and a two car covered car port.

One bedroom is downstairs with a king bed, while the upstairs bedroom is a loft area with two single beds and a queen bed. The bathroom is downstairs and comes with a shower and all linens and towels are provided. It is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full-sized fridge, a new oven and stove top, a French press coffee/tea maker, and a blender (perfect for breakfast smoothies!). The kitchen is equipped with dishes, silverware, and pots and pans. The eating area has a large table (hand made by the host) with benches and two chairs on the end, comfortably seating eight. It includes complimentary coffee and tea.

The hosts also provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner so guests don't have to pack these bulky items! The cabin is a stand-alone building that is located approximately 1/2 mile on a graveled road from the main house around a bend and in the forest by the river. It cannot be seen from the main house and is very secluded. The hosts live in the main house. Guests also have access to the other 110 acres which includes a fishing pond with dock, a river, and walking paths around the property. There is a pool at the main house, with a pool house, towels, and pool toys that guests are welcome to use during a stay. The pool is open approximately June through September. Guests should ask host if it will be available if during their stay.

Amenities here include a pool alongside the main house. There are two kayaks available for guests' use. Additionally, guests will have access to vegetable gardens, bees, composting areas, chickens and cows which provide the farm with fresh vegetables, honey, eggs, and meat. Depending on the season there may be plenty to share.

There is heating and air conditioning, a fireplace, a TV, a wrap-around lower porch, and two upstairs porches. This rental includes complimentary coffee and tea. All linens and towels are provided and there is access to a washing machine and a dryer in the carriage house. The host will provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner. Lastly, guests will have two-car covered parking.

The property also has two one person kayaks available for use on the pond. There are vegetable gardens, bees, composting areas, chickens, pigs, and cows which provide the property with fresh vegetables, honey, eggs, and meat. Depending on the season there may be plenty to share. The property also added a charcoal grill in the carport area, and if guests would like to make their own farm to table meal the hosts have all cuts of grass fed beef available for purchase. Guests do not have access to the main house or other facilities such as the barns, carriage house, and sheds. Of all rentals, this is the best log cabin getaway Asheboro, NC has to offer!

This property is non-smoking and pets are not allowed.

No parties or events are allowed and it may not be safe or suitable for infants under two years of age.

The hosts expect guests to respect the land and property, so it can be available for the next guest. This includes picking up any trash, treading gently, and not destroying any object or creature.

The property has exterior and interior electric fencing.

The cabin is not child proofed. I would caution that the upstairs has open stairs and a walkway to an upstairs porch area, so while architecturally stunning and sturdy guests may only want older kids up there.

Be kind to the environment and take care of the surroundings.
